Im Sorry but This is So Wrong!!!
Oh Gee I didn't realise that...
was an Arutz Sheva blog as well

If you think this is a recommendation list then good for you,...

If you click on any of these links then you're even more stupid than the rest of the bloggers in the JIB's including Mr Bagel! And Believe me we have been Stupid!

I want to be sick....

Now I'm going to get a lot of flack for this post, but I'm not going to sit here and watch these Awards be stolen away!

Too be quite frank I am sick of hearing 'We will adress that next year'

I want every single Jblogger to look at this list and if you were beaten by any of these blogs you need to ask yourself was it fair that these blogs were on a National newspaper and you weren't?

Why didn't the committee say something?

Why will they only act next year?

Now before you go saying I'm acting in self interest.

Right, now I'm actually Leader of Best of the Rest

If you think Mr Bagel might just be slightly sarcastic about the fact there are so many blogs directly associated with Arutz Sheva that got a major mention on the page below then you might be just a teeny bit closer to the truth.

Have a look how many of them are actually either winning or coming a place. Then think about how many bloggers that have blogged all year are going to miss out on that finals badge because they were gazumped by Arutz Sheva blogs.

Thanks again - I agree. Tamar Yonah is beating my blog in Best New Blog and Kumah is one ahead in Jewish blogger that makes a difference. If anyone reading this agrees, you can give a vote for Daf Notes. Thanks

Why is there so many 'click to vote' buttons on the Arutz Sheva page for Arutz Sheva blogs, BUT there is no 'click to view' buttons to see the rest of the finalists?

All these pseudo blogs should have been banned from the start.

Arutz Sheva has cynically turned the JIBs into one enormous orgy of self congratulations.

I think it's certainly a strong case for having a professional media blogger section

it's also a bit odd that A7 describes it as empowering alternative voices? alternative to what?

Honestly, I have no doubt that the best thing would be if the organizers just delete them from the running, since they've distorted the entire point.

Send a comment to the A7 article explaining that it's not a media contest and that none of the those blogs will be allowed to run in the future.

mr bagel, you're on the committee

Jacob Da Jew said...

What's the point of the committee if they just sit around twidelling their thumbs?

Hi Batya,
I am no longer on the committee, I resigned back in early March for personal reasons.

I agree with what Batya said in that:

"the best thing would be if the organizers just delete them from the running, since they've distorted the entire point."

...except it just won't happen and it won't help the other 'real' bloggers who have missed out on being in the finals because of A7 blogs.

Do you blog because you want to win an award or because you like to blog.

Does any of this really matter. Is it that important. So there are some problems with the JIBs.

It is annoying. It would be great if there were not, but in the end this is all narishkeit.

I don't get it...Isn't this all supposed to be in fun and to network? Why is everyone blowing this into a mean spirited competition? It's hard to understand why people are getting so upset over something that is made to bring us closer together. Am I wrong?

To those who think Mr Bagel is overboard...
you know he works hard on this blog to provide a lot of resources and information on his own time for others.
Why shouldn't he be rewarded in a proper way? Nothing in the world wrong with it.
And also, he is fighting for the little bloggers to have a chance to be heard and seen, not just for himself.
He wants fair contests with right representation in proper areas.
Pros on one side, and the everyday guys on the other ..each receiving a nod for work well done.

Mr Bagel, I have to agree it's ridiculous. they should either be banned or in a different catagory.

Lemon, I in no way said he was going overboard. I love this guy and his wife as well. I'm just saying it's sad that it's come to this. I think you're doing a greay job...both of you and it's nice to see honesty still exists.
